I was very excited when I got a mail from Dr PS Bajaj sir confirming my fellowship under his
mentorship. I did my MS in Orthopaedics from BJMC,Pune. I wished to pursue a fellowship where I
got exposure to both arthroscopy and arthroplasty with greater focus on arthroscopy.This fellowship
allowed just that.
Dr PS Bajaj sir is extremely student friendly and approachable. I was washed in all cases from day
1.Most importantly sir taught from basics right from draping to advanced surgical nuances at every
step.Sir takes special interest in teaching his fellows , and teaches in every case which was really
helpful.Intra operatively also he is very approachable and clears doubts and ensures a very
educational and positive OT environment. In the clinic also we can understand his approach and
protocols in treatment and follow up of post op cases which is extremely important as well.
Special highlight cases include revision acl cases and Arthroscopic OATS(osteochondral autografts
transfer for chondral defect) surgery. Sir also coordinated and made it possible such that I could
attend OT sessions in Sports Injury Centre under Dr Deepak Joshi sir. The volume and exposure at
Sports Injury Centre really helped me acquire extra knowledge. Arthroscopic suprascapular nerve
release , Double row RC repair would be especially educational cases I saw there.
On a personal level all the staff at Bajaj Specialist clinics including Dr Ovesh , Meghraj , Bharat
, Vicky helped me in all aspects during my stay and created a wonderful working environment.The
overall working experience was educational and stress free with enough time for self study and
consolidation of knowledge which I was seeing in the OT and clinic.
Overall I am very happy that I got this opportunity to work as fellow for Dr PS Bajaj sir and this
exposure will definitely go a long way in my career. I would like to thank Dr PS Bajaj sir who has
been mentor for giving me this opportunity.
