ISKSAA JRC AUSTRALIA TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2024
Respected sir
First of all i want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for selecting me for ISKSAA JRC Australia Travelling Fellowship. We travelled to the beautiful city of Adelaide from 19 Aug to 14 September. This fellowship was a combo pack of gaining knowledge, learning new surgical techniques, experiencing the best work culture and of course enjoying the beauty of the place.
First thing first, thanks to Ms Sarah Sain who made sure that our documentation was complete before our arrival and a training program was created for us for next 4 weeks. I thank the ever smiling and helpful Mr Nick Kerrison for arranging our accommodation at such a beautiful location with everything in place and showing us around in his car on the very first day.
The fellowship was conducted at various hospitals over the next 4 weeks with different consultants .
Majority of time was spent with masters of lower limb surgery Dr Sunil Reddy and Dr Swapnil Pandit( Bobby) and the most meticulous upper limb surgeon Dr Aman Sood showed us some beautiful shoulder cases.
We were able to see and scrub in most of the surgeries. Dr Boopalan at Royal Adelaide Hospital showed us the exceptional work in pelvi acetabular done at their centre.
All the approaches to the total hip including DAA; total knees with conventional, navigation assisted and robotics; Shoulder Arthroplasty both anatomical and reverse plus a few cases of revisions and trauma were demonstrated during the period. The consultants answered all our queries and treated us exceptionally well. Thanks to all of them
Special thanks to Dr Sunil Reddy and his wife for the farewell dinner at their splendid home. It was truly amazing.
Once again thanking you and Dr Lalit Maini and team ISKSAA for the wonderful opportunity. Proud to be an IMRI fellow
Warm regards
Dr Saqib Yasin
