ISKSAA BIRMINGHAM PATELLOFEMORAL FELLOWSHIP 2025
First of all i like to thank Dr Pushpinder Bajaj sir for providing me this great opportunity. I really draw inspiration from him for being so patient, humble and caring. I also want to thank Dr Tanweer Ashraf who is not only a wizard for patellofemoral pathologies but also a nice person.
We had 2 weeks fellowship at four NHS hospitals at Birmingham- Royal orthopaedic hospital, Solihull hospital, Good hope hospital and Queen Elizabeth hospital. Our roster was made a few days back and alternatively we were posted under four knee specialist consultants in ot and opd’s - Dr Tanweer Ashraf, Dr Tamer Sweed, Dr Tarek Boutefnouchet and Dr Omar Alanie. In OT we were fortunate to see many realignment procedures, cartilage restoration techniques, and revision surgeries. We had many case discussion and consultants very thoroughly responded our queries. OPD duties were also very good as being tertiary centre for knee pathologies we got to see many varieties of cases and even some complications.
I had privilege of being accompanied by very Accomplished and knowledgefull fellow Dr Anshul dahuja who helped me immensely during my stay.
Weather was nice. I got chance to visit Edinburgh and london during weekends and roamed birmingham during evenings. I had very nice experience personally and professionally and will cherish these memories.
Lots of love,
Dr SANJAY JAIN
