FELLOWSHIP REPORT

Our Fellowship started on 19th january 2015. It was a rotating fellowship in which we attended different reputed centres in delhi. We were supposed to see cases of arthroscopy and arthroplasty in these centres and learn concepts of arthroscopy and arthroplasty.
We attended Sant Parmanand Hospital on day one where we met Dr. Shekhar Srivastav and watched him doing Arthroscopic ACL reconstruction and Arthroscopic Rotator cuff repair. On Day two we attended Indian Spinal Injury Centre where we saw case of total hip replacement and a case of total knee replacement in patient with bilateral valgus knee deformity. We got chance to watch mini open rotator cuff repair. On day third we were posted in Indraprastha Apollo Hospital where we got chance to see a case of revision total knee replacement. There we observed case of bilateral ACL reconstruction. We visited Sports Injury Centre, one of the most reputed teaching centre for sports medicine twice in this programme and observed many cases of knee and shoulder arthroscopy that included bankart repair, rotator cuff repair and cases of ACL reconstruction (both double and single bundle).
We attended Maulana Azad Medical College twice where we got chance to learn concepts of THR and TKR pre operative planning by Dr. Lalit Maini. There we watched cases ACL reconstruction, Bankart repair and management of chondral defect by Proff. Vinod Kumar. We learnt concepts of mosaic plasty. We went to centres of Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj, Dr. Prateek Gupta to learn concepts of ACL reconstruction.
We attended shoulder arthroscopy workshop and shoulder elbow con 2015. This Conference cleared our doubts and taught us new concepts of shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty. We observed live surgeries of rotator cuff repair, bankart repair and latarjet surgery in this workshop. We learned concepts of management of proximal humerus fracture by Dr Mukesh Jain. So overall this conference was a great opportunity for us to learn new things.
At last I felt that this fellowship opportunity added a lot to my basic level of knowledge in arthroscopy and arthroplasty which shall help me in managing my patients in better way.
