ISKSAA BEDFORD UK TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2025
Greetings,
I had the opportunity to complete a short observership as part of the UK ISKSAA Travelling Fellowship at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Bedford Hospital site) in June 2025 under the guidance of Mr M. K. Sood. The observer ship provided valuable insight into the working of the NHS and contemporary surgical trends in trauma , arthroplasty , and sports medicine in the UK. Mr Sood is a dynamic mentor who actively engaged us in clinical discussions, challenged our thinking through thoughtful questioning, and generously shared practical wisdom from his extensive experience. Beyond the academic environment, his warmth and hospitality—including informal interactions outside the hospital—made the experience both educational and personally enriching. This fellowship offered a meaningful international perspective that has positively influenced my understanding of structured, evidence-based orthopaedic practice.
