ISKSAA PUNE TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIPS
Experience regarding ISKSAA Pune travelling fellowship of shoulder arthroscopy and sports medicine
First of all, I would like to thank Dr Pushpender Bajaj, Dr Lalit Mani, Dr Ashish
Babhulkar, ISKSAA conference 2019 and all ISKSAA members who supported me
and gave me this opportunity of learning as fellow under Dr Ashish Babhulkar.
I got proper guidance from Dr Lalit Mani and Dr Ashish Babhulkar from selection
till joining for fellowship and the whole process was steam lined.
I reached Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital on 1st of November, 2019 and
completed my fellowship on 9th of November, 2019. During this period, I learnt
so much from him
Dr Ashish Babhulkar is very humble, knowledgeable and skilled doctor. On 1st
day he helped me understand the hospital schedule, introduced me to everyone
and made me comfortable with his team. He took many academic classes and I
got to learn about Pune shoulder rehabilitation protocols and role of
physiotherapy. During his OPD, he taught me the proper method of examination
of shoulder and knee joint in detail which helped me reach the proper diagnosis
and he taught me approach to difficult clinical cases too. In OT, he made me
assist many proximal humerus fractures operated with PHILOS, rotator cuff
repairs, bankart repair, ramplissage repair, latarjet procedures and many more.
I finished my fellowship with great knowledge, skills and understanding the role
of physiotherapy in proper treatment of patient. I would like to recommend this
fellowship to all the aspirants in the future, as it helped me immensely and am
still using the surgical techniques I learnt from him successfully.
