ISKSAA EDGE HILL UK TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2022
Thanks for the wonderful opportunity sir.
I reached Manchester a day before the start of the fellowship and took a cab from airport to reach
Wigan for my accommodation.
After reaching Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan at switchboard I got the keys to my
accommodation immediately which was sponsored and facilitated by the fellowship coordinator here.
The accommodation was clean, fully furnished and had all the amenities.
I took buses/public transport to reach Wrightington Hospital, the fare of travel in between the
accommodation and hospital was also reimbursed/sponsored by my fellowship coordinator.
The market and various supermarkets were on walking distance from accommodation. So it was easy to
get all things for daily need during my stay.
After reaching the hospital I met my Fellowship coordinator Prof. Raj Murali and Prof. Puneet Monga
who introduced me to all the consultants working in the hospital personally and via email. So that I
can see and attend maximum surgeries of different consultants in the area of my
interest.
All the faculty and staff members were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
The faculty was very interactive and easily approachable and always helped me in various queries
regarding surgeries.
During my visiting fellowship I had the opportunity to see various upper limb and lower limb
surgeries like SCR reconstruction , cuff repair, bankart repair, various other shoulder Arthroscopic
procedures, reverse shoulder arthroplasty, customised reverse shoulder arthroplasty,
Total elbow replacement, revision elbow replacement, TKRs ,UKRs, TTO, MPFL reconstruction, ACLRs,
multi ligamentous knee reconstruction and various other knee scopy surgeries etc.
All the consultants were very interactive and helpful. And they tried to explain each and every
steps of surgeries and shared various tricks and trips.
As a whole my experience as a visit fellow at Wrightington Hospital was very good and will
definitely help me to improve my surgical skills and will help me in my future
prospects.
I would like to thank Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj for giving me the opportunity to experience this
Fellowship.
