ISKSAA EDGE HILL UK TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2022
Visiting Experience and Testimonial
I have presented a paper in ISKSAA 2022. During the conference I have been offered a visiting
fellowship at the Wrightington Hospital, Wigan, UK. After email conversation with Dr. Pushpinder
Bajaj and Prof. Raj murali, I have finalized my dates of travel in May 2023.
Before coming here I had multiple email conversation with Administration staff regarding NHS
registration and staying room allotment. After finalizing my itinerary I have reached Wigan at Royal
Albert Edward Infirmary hospital accommodation. My stay was sponsored and facilitated by fellowship
coordinator Prof. Raj Murali. Prof. Murali has introduced to me to all senior surgeons via email. My
room was clean and having all required amenities like kitchen, bathroom and other utilities. There
were lots of buses available to reach hospital. It takes approx 30-40 minutes only to reach
hospital. During Fellowship, I get to see various advanced surgeries related to knee and shoulder
surgery like Customized Reverse shoulder arthroplasty, Revision ACL reconstruction, Shoulder cuff
repair via arthroscopy, superior Capsular reconstruction, Unicondylar knee arthroplasty and many
other advanced procedures.
Wrightington Hospital is advanced orthopaedic centre of elective surgeries related to upper and
lower limb. As per my area of interest this course has definitely improved my surgical skills and
approach of thinking towards Shoulder and Knee surgeries.
want to thank ISKSAA society and Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj for giving me this opportunity to work at
this tertiary orthopaedic centre at UK.
All surgeons shared their experience and surgery skills. OT staffs were very accommodating. It was
altogether a good experience for me.
