To,
Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj, Dr. Lalit Maini, Dr. Birender Balain and Dr Sanjeev Anand
To begin with, first of all I would like to thanks Dr Pushpinder Bajaj, Dr Lalit Maini, Dr Sanjeev Anand, Dr. Birender Blain and all the esteemed doctors involved with this ISKSAA- UK Oswestry Spine fellowship program for providing me such a great opportunity.
I went for this fellowship in June 2023 for a period of 2 weeks (12th-26th June) at Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry. It was a great time visiting this prestigious institute of UK, which is specialised in every sub speciality of Orthopaedics. The spine surgery department is par excellence and we had the opportunity to see vast variety of surgical procedures. All the conventional, mini invasive and endoscopic procedures are done as a routine there. All the consultants in Dept of spine surgery were kind and interactive.
I would like to mention special thanks to Dr Birender Blain, who is mentor of this fellowship. He is very kind and humble person. He guided us in every aspect and also arranged accommodation at hospital premises which was of great help. He himself introduced us to everyone in the department and Operation theatre complex. He discussed every cases in detail before surgery and while operating. The working environment was so friendly there that we were comfortable in discussing cases with other consultants like Dr Brown, Dr Sarfaz, Dr Shashank and many more.
We had a wonderful stay at the RJAH, Oswestry and came back with new memories and knowledge. This fellowship program is really best and concise for any aspiring spine surgeon to know the vast idea of the subject. This is a highly recommended fellowship for any young orthopaedic and spine surgeon.
Finally, I would like to thank again ISKSAA and everyone at RJAH, Oswestry for all the help and support for completing this fellowship.
