ISKSAA LEEDS UK TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2025
I was selected for the ISKSAA travelling fellowship in 2025, which took place from June 30 to July 13, 2025. . I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj, Dr. Lalit Maini, and the entire ISKSAA team for providing me with this incredible opportunity.
The fellowship was preceded by the Great North Debate organised by Chapel Allerton Orthopaedics in collaboration with ISKSAA on 26 and 27 june 2025 at Leeds. I had the opportunity to present my study ‘Hamstring VS Peroneus longus graft to assess the functional outcome in ACL reconstruction’ for which I was awarded the Best Paper in the rapid fire round. The conference itself was an incredible learning experience from some of the most eastablished consultants.
The fellowship was a comprehensive 2-week program at Leeds NHS Hospitals, expertly coordinated by Mr. Sanjeev Anand. Leeds NHS Hospitals are a renowned tertiary care center, offering specialized trauma and elective services.
Our journey began with a thorough orientation by Mr. Sanjeev Anand, who introduced us to the hospital staff and familiarized us with the department. Throughout our stay, Mr. Anand ensured that we gained extensive exposure to both elective and trauma cases, sharing his invaluable expertise and providing insightful discussions on preoperative and postoperative care. I also had the opportunity to attend clinics to observe the outpatient care being offered.
I also had the privilege of interacting with rest of the esteemed faculty of Chapel Allerton orthopaedics. The consultants generously shared their time and expertise, guiding us through complex surgeries and offering valuable feedback.
During our 2-week tenure, we were exposed to wide range of procedures, including knee soft tissue procedures, Robotic and manual TKR and THR and trauma cases.
This experience has been a game-changer for my professional growth, and I am deeply indebted to ISKSAA for selecting me.
Sincerely
Dr. Abhinav Singla
