ISKSAA DELHI TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2015

At the outset, I would like to thank Dr. LalitMaini and Dr. Pushphinder Bajaj for providing me this opportunity for pursuing this prestigious Delhi travelling fellowship programmefor 2 weeks. This helped me to interact with many experts in diverse fields in many renowned institutions around Delhi, which helped me to enhance and expand various surgical skills about arthroscopy and arthroplasty.

Ourstay was arranged in Maulana Azad medical college guest house with canteen facilities.I was joined by Dr. Balaraju from Hyderabad and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Delhi. During our stay Dr. LalitMainitook care of our schedule and made sure we attend the hospital with large volume and variety of cases todemontrate and learn.

We started our fellowship by visiting Artemis hospital in Gurugramwhere we were fortunate to see TKR done on fused knee joint by Dr IPS Oberoi and ACL and PCL reconstruction ,rotator cuff repair along with TKR .As the fellowship progressed we visited many premiercentres like AIIMS ,Saftarjung hospital, Sports injury centre,Fortis in VasanthKunj ,Indian Spinal Institute,Gangaram hospital with wide array of procedures ranging from TKR ,THR,unicondylar knee replacement ,arthroscopic ACL and PCL reconstructions, meniscal repairs ,MPFL repair , shoulder arthroscopy like bankarts repair and rotator cuff single and double row repairs. All consultants made us feel at home and took pain to explain the procedures. They gracefully cleared our doubts and also joined us for lunch.

This short term fellowship was very beneficial as I got to know the better techniques andskills followed by many eminent surgeons across the country. This experience will help me to further polish my surgical skills in my day to day practice. The experts taught us openly and thus within short span of time we could incorporate manyfavourable modifications in our surgical skills and the entire credit goes to ISKSAAand its proficient president and chairman for carrying out this responsibilityefficiently.

We also took break for visiting places like Amritsar, Goldentemple, Wagah border and many other places.

Finally I would like to thank Dr. LalitMaini sir and Dr.PushpinderBajaj sir for giving me this splendid opportunity under ISKSAA. I havebeen benefitedby this fellowship tremendously.I hope my association with ISKSAA will flourish and look forward to contribute positively to ISKSAA in future.
