ISKSAA ABERDEEN TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIPS

I had some problem in going thanks to the wrong visa dates issued to me by visa authorities. I appreciate the efforts of Dr Kapil and he allowed me to change my fellowship dates at a short notice.
I landed at aberdeen on 23rd august and was welcomed by a warm and sunny day.
Dr Kapil Verma and Dr Harjoban Singh (long term fellow at aberdeen) welcomed me. My accommodation had been arranged at the staffhome hostel at the Woodend Hospital. The accommodation is just across the hospital and is pretty comfortable.
Dr kapil is a very warm person and a gentleman. He made me very comfortable and made sure I enjoy and learn every minute of my stay in UK.
Dr Kapil informed me about the OT and the opd schedules. The comfort level provided by Dr Kapil was great which ensures two way interactions. I enhanced my clinical skills observing and discussing each case. I was excited to see the results of shoulder surgeries specially the reverse shoulder patients.
The OT list prepared ensured that I have a fair mix of all types of shoulder cases ranging form labrum repair for instability to calcific tendinits to rotator cuff repair.
In one of the OT days we had two reverse shoulder back to back and one of them was pretty challenging with glenoid bone loss.
The preop planning and the approach made both the cases look strightforward. It was nice to get answers to all my quries be it ot or opd.
Apart from the academics Dr Kapil ensured I was comfortable in my free time. I spent my weekend at london with my old friends and friends and it was great fun being at this historic city.
The two weeks I spent at aberdeen have enlightened me.
Iam sure this knowledge is going to be a big help for me in my shoulder pratice.
