ISKSAA MUMBAI TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2022
Respected Sir,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank ISKSAA for giving me the platform to widen the horizon of
my knowledge by learning from Dr.Sanjay Desai Sir through the ISKSAA Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty
travelling fellowship in Mumbai.
Working under Dr.Sanjay Desai was a lifetime dream come true. Having speculations initially about going
to Mumbai, came to rest after meeting the Dr.Desai sir and his team. In his busy schedule, Sir took the
time to have a conversation about me, my expectations from this program and what I will be perceiving in
the upcoming 15 days.
I was enthusiastic about all the cases, specifically for the ones I was about to witness for the first
one. Sir along with his team did a thorough pre op and post op rounds. Sir took a keen interest in
making my doubts clear and was never in hurry be it in O.T or O.P.D. Seeing patients coming from all
over India and World depicted the immense trust patients have in Sir. The working environment along with
knowledge laced conversations filled me with zeal to learn more. I had the pleasure to witness about 20
surgeries such as Rotator cuff repair, Bankart,s repair, Reverse shoulder replacement, UKR, ACL
reconstruction , Proximal humerus fracture fixation etc during the short span of 14 days.
Sir has been a good mentor and provided me with pearls of wisdom which I will cherish for rest of my
life. Seeing him working hard even after the fame he has, inspired me to work hard and learn more.
Having a fellowship in Mumbai has it perks too. Walk by Marine Drive, Gateway of India and watching an
IPL match were some of the add-ons.
I would highly recommend all the surgeons who want to learn and have exposure of Arthroscopy especially
Shoulder arthroscopy and Arthroplasty to never this the chance to learn under Dr.Sanjay Desai Sir. He is
a great inspiration and role model to young minds.
I sincerely thank Dr.Pushpinder Bajaj sir, Dr.Lalit Maini sir, Dr.Sanjeev sir and whole ISKSAA team for
providing me with this opportunity to work under a world class surgeon and to inspire to follow in the
footsteps of Dr.Sanjay Desai sir.
