Royal Derby Hospital, Derby, United Kingdom
DURATION | : | 2 Weeks From 14.05.2017 To 27.05.2017 |
My sincere thanks to
Prof. Lalit Maini and Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj sir – ISKSAA
Dr. Amol Tambe – Head of Shoulder Unit, Royal Derby Hospital, UK
It was a great honour to to be part of this wonderful fellowship programme. It was a 2 weeks long fellowship in the beautiful and peaceful city of Derby, about 2 hours drive from London .
The fellowship began at Derby hospital, a government set up with all specialities and covering all aspects of orthopaedics under various heads. I was amazed to see 20 dedicated orthopaedic theatres there fully equipped with all sorts of implants.
The best part of fellowship was the nature and knowledge of all the surgeons, especially D.r Amol Tambe. He was open to all sort of discussions and opinions about the procedures. From the first day he made us comfortable by helping us with the formalities in hospital, planning our schedule in the theatres as per our interest. During the procedure he explained each and every step about the procedure and how to deal with the difficult cases.
He also made arrangements for us to attend the OPD clinics of various doctors of shoulder unit.
We also got opportunity to attend their morning meetings which helped us in understanding their work culture and to take part in case discussions.
It was a wonderful opportunity to work and increase our knowledge in various upper limb surgeries which is definitely going to help me in my future practice.
I would like to thank everyone from ISKSAA team, Dr. Lalit Maini, Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj for being so helpful and providing me this opportunity.
My sincere thanks to Dr. Amol Tambe for making it memorable and taking good care of us.
