ISKSAA BOSTAA TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2018, UK
06/06/2018 - 22/06/2018

I would like to thank ISKSAA President Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj, Chairman Prof. Lalit Maini and the entire ISKSAA team for giving an opportunity for being part of this prestigious fellowship. It was indeed a great experience for us..

I reached Manchester on 4th evening from Bangalore and checked into a hotel around North Manchester. Dr. Niel Jain who was the mentor for our fellowship in Manchester was kind enough to call me and enquire about my stay same day. I officially joined Dr. Neil Jain on wednsday (06/06/18) at Rochdale Infirmary. I could watch many shoulder and other upper limb surgeries at Rochdale Infirmary and Manchester North hospital. In between I could tour the beautiful city of Manchester by hop off and hop on buses.

After eventful one week at Manchester, I headed to Exeter by train. It was a great stay Exeter hospital with Dr. Vipul Mandalia and Dr. Prakash. Dr. Vipul Mandalia was kind enough to come and meet me on the same day. I was observing surgeries in Dr. Prakash theatre list.

On 10/06/18 I reached historic city London!. Dr. Ashish Taneja joined me on the same day. We both stayed in a hotel around Euston square. The entire week stay in London was an academic feast for us. We observed surgeries of Dr. Sam Ossoudek and Dr. Rahul Patel at University College of London. We could see some rare cases of knee arthroscopies like cartilage defect surgeries alongwith routine surgeries. We also observed surgeries by Dr. Carlos Cobiella and David Sweetenham outside UCL. The academic schedule in London was as follows

Monday: Carlos Cobiella at The Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth
Tuesday: Sam Oussedik at University College Hospital
Wednesday: Rahul Patel at University College Hospital
Thursday: Sam Oussedik at University College Hospital
Friday: Panos Thomas (BOSTAA President) at The Whittington Hospital

After a eventful stay at London, we headed to Sheffield and Chester field. Both the hospital Dr. Fazal Ali was fantastic with his surgeries and teaching. We saw some unusual cases like medial and lateral patellar instability.

To conclude our fellowship we attended very well organized ISKSAA Leeds conference. We also presented our fellowship report to Dr. Sanjeev Anand. I also presented a free paper on Arthroscopic AC joint reconstruction using dog bone button.

Overall it was a life time experience. Thank all the mentors and ISKSAA team
