ISKSAA MOHALI MAX TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2022
Firstly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj, Dr. Lalit Maini and Dr
Jatinder Singla for providing me the opportunity to learn and develop my knowledge and skills in the
orthopaedic subspecialty of arthroplasty and arthroscopy through the ISKSAA MOHALI MAX TRAVELLING
FELLOWSHIP.
I started my fellowship on February 20th and completed on March 6th, 2023 (2 weeks). During this period,
I had the opportunity to observe approximately 28 surgeries, out of which I assisted in all. I learned
various tips and tricks from experts who were really interested in teaching and explaining all the
procedures and techniques to me.
I felt really lucky to have had the opportunity to learn from Dr. Jatinder Singla who, with his skill,
speed and accuracy made sure the outcome of every surgery was nothing less than perfect. He taught me
techniques to complete surgeries in a quick and perfect way. I could stop him anywhere to clear my
doubts and he was always ready with a convincing answer and made sure that my query was answered before
proceeding with the surgery. During the course of the fellowship I was able to assist him in total knee
replacement, partial knee replacement, total hip replacement, revision total knee replacement, knee
arthrodesis, core decompression of hip, ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair, in total, which helped
me gain depth and knowledge in managing arthroplasty & arthroscopy cases. One added advantage during my
fellowship was assisting a lot of partial knee replacement cases too. I would like to thank the
anaesthetists, theatre staff, ward staff and doctors for helping me during the entire period of
fellowship.
To be a part of ISKSAA fellowship was a tremendous experience which will inspire and encourage me as a
person and surgeon for the rest of my professional career to achieve and provide the highest standard of
care under the given circumstances.
Regards,
Dr. Sanket Tanpure
