ISKSAA BUCKINGHAMSHIRE 2019 TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP
The fellowship in knee Arthroplasty and Arthroscopy at Buckinghamshire NHS Hospital was successfully completed from Nov 15 to 31 of 2019. Myself and Dr. Shounak are extremely happy and thankful to Dr. ShibuKrishnan, Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj, Dr. LalitMaini, ISKSAA team and the NHS consultants for providing us with such an amazing opportunity of academic excellence.
Dr. Shibu Krishnan was wonderful and had put in a lot of effort to make our fellowship really fruitful. He had coordinated with several consultants and made a proper structured programme for us. Sir was really friendly and down to earth and was always approachable throughout the programme. During the fellowship programme, we had live guided walkthrough of several complex primary as well as revision hip and knee arthroplasty surgeries. The exposure in Arthroscopy surgeries was also very good. As a whole, the fellowship gave us an amazing experience of NHS system.
Few suggestions from our experience which can make this an even better one:
We came to know that there's possibility of hands on experience as well with a bit more paperwork. Getting washed in surgeries will provide the fellows with more insight into the surgery.
