ISKSAA DELHI FELLOWSHIP 2022
Duration - 3 months (1.04.2023 - 30.06.2023) under Dr. Pushpinder Singh Bajaj I am extremely
grateful to Dr. P.S Bajaj sir and ISKAA for giving me the opportunity to work with him and develop
my knowledge and skill in the field of Arthroscopy and Sports medicine
I had the opportunity to witness Dr. Bajaj sir operate a wide range of cases during my tenure under
him. I got exposed to a wide variety of cases and surgical procedures in my tenure. Along with
arthroscopy, sir also has a huge arthroplasty and trauma case load. So I got to witness a much wider
variety of surgical techniques than I had imagined before joining the fellowship. Apart from being
an amazing surgeon and clinician, Bajaj sir is an phenomenal teacher. His valuable insights about
the surgical procedures he was performing has helped develop my knowledge base in the field of
orthopaedics.
During the OPD sir used to teach various clinical tests and OPD based procedures like intraarticular
injections, casting techniques. It was here where I learnt the most from sir about patient selection
for surgery and how the best result can be delivered with the best planning. Meticulous patient
selection and planning were emphasized by sir which is a skill I'm thankful to him to have taught
me. Sir has an exceptional physiotherapy department with great people working over there. You get to
learn all prehab and post operative physiotherapy protocols which are designed to obtain the best
functional result for the patient.
During the fellowship I also got the opportunity to visit Sports injury center to see a large number
of arthroscopy cases based on Dr Bajaj sirs recommendation. So even on relatively free days I could
visit SIC and continue to develop my arthroscopy and sports medicine base
Apart from being a great teacher, Dr Bajaj is a phenomenal person and always made me feel at home
during my tenure under him. He is always soft spoken and looking out for his students. Even the
entire team of Bajaj speciality clinic made me feel welcome and made my experience amazing.
It has been a great journey over the past 3 months where I made new friends, discovered new places
and acquired surgical and clinical skills which i can carry forward in my future practise.
My sincere thanks to Dr. P.S Bajaj sir and his entire team for making it memorable and taking good
care of me.
I hope ISKSAA will continue providing such fellowships to young orthopaedic surgeons.
