I was selected to be a part of the ISKSAA travelling fellowship in 2024 from 21st October 2024 to 1st November 2024 and am extremely grateful to Dr Pushpinder Bajaj, Dr Lalit Maini and the other members of ISKSAA for giving me an opportunity to be a part of this enriching experience.

The fellowship was a 2-week programme in Bedford Hospital, South Wing under our coordinator Mr Manoj Sood.

Bedford hospital is a tertiary care centre offering both trauma and elective services.

I attended this fellowship with another fellow, Dr. Keshav Jindal. On our first day at the Hospital, we were briefed by our guide, Mr. Manoj Sood who introduced us to all the staff and gave us a brief orientation of the campus.

Mr Manoj Sood is a very kind and helpful person. He is a master of his field. He made sure that we get a full exposure to elective as well as trauma lists. He discussed cases with us in depth and provided us a new perspective to both preoperative and postoperative care.

During our 2 week stay, we met, discussed and exchanged ideas with Mr Dan Arvinte, Mr Y Shankarappa, Mr Sunil and Mr Narada. All consultants were more than helpful in discussing and guiding us with their surgeries while performing them. We were exposed to primary TKR, THR, Revision THR, Knee Arthroscopy and various trauma procedures. By the end of every day, we would be overwhelmed by the academic overexposure at the hospital.

We also attended the morning trauma meets which gave perspective into the importance of multi-disciplinary care of the patients.

I was lucky enough to be accompanied by my wife, Dr. Ira Domun who was attending a fellowship in psychiatry in Bedford and my friend and colleague Dr. Keshav Jindal.

It was overall a professionally enriching experience and I am highly obliged that ISKSAA selected me to enhance my skills in my day-to-day practice.
